• Bring low denomination cash - It's hard to break or spend a $50.00 bill! Isn't that a change from the US!
• Credit cards are accepted almost everywhere.
• Leave your diamonds behind... Jaco has fantastic boutiques! Hand made artistic jewelry is more popular in this country.
• Due to the perfect climate your skin will feel terrific and moist. Sun screen is always a must while spending time on the beach.
• Don't over pack! With so many tourist shops you will lack for nothing. At the Macaw's you have your own private laundry room in your condo!
• Grocery stores, drug stores, apparel & gift shops are all within walking distance. There are plenty of taxi's to drive you & your packages back to your condo!
• Don't be concerened about the drinking water! Costa Rica water is fantastic. That is why the food & coffee taste so great!
• Bring books and magazines in your language. Most publications are in Spanish.
• Most Costa Rican shops & restaurant establishments speak English. However, Spanish is the primary language spoken.
