Suggestions below we hope will ease your mind on what to pack for your trip to the Macaw's Ocean Club on Jaco Beach, Costa Rica.
| Attire |
| 1. Beach & Casual Attire for the day. Shorts, sandles, bathing suits and coverups will get you through most any day. If you plan to hike in the mountains, bike or canopy tour you may want to pack tennis shoes and jeans or light weight pants. |
| 2. Evening attire for downtown Jaco is also casual; light weight shirt, dress shorts or slacks and casual shoes for men. Ladies casual sun dresses, shorts, jeans and sandles. Evenings are warm but not hot. |
| 3. Water shoes are nice to have so you can walk the beach in comfort. There are small streams which deposit into the Pacific Ocean and you will be more comfortable walking with water shoes in such places. |
| 4. Bring a jacket and sweater if you plan to visit or stay in the moutains during the evening. |
| 5. Don't forget to pack a hat! Protect your self from the sun during the day. A fanny pack or small clip on bag for day walking to carry money or keys. |
| 6. No need for fancy jewelry, you are better off with a sports watch for men an colorful costume jewelry for ladies. |

1. Although the US dollar is sometimes taken, most exchange is in colones. It is imperative that you get the hang of colones before you arrive. You can use Yahoo Currency Converter. Or we suggest keeping this logic in mind...

| 2. The US Dollar is widely accepted in Jaco and most of Costa Rica. However, be prepared to bring a lot of low denomination dollars. 1,5,10 and twenty dollar bills are most commonly used. | 3. All US currency should be "Newly printed" dollars. Especially, $20 and $100 dollar bills. |
| 4. Credit cards are accepted in most places. Be sure to contact your credit card company prior to your trip so they are aware you will be using your credit card in Costa Rica. |

| Personal Items and Medication |
| 1. While the cost of great food and entertainment are low compared to the United States pharmacy and name brand items such as Motrin, Asprin, Band-Aids are usually more expensive in Jaco. |
| 2. Condo Rentals include basic items such as shampoo, soap and lotion. We suggest light weight Aloe Vera lotion for the skin. |
